Hair Oil
There are many ways to add hair oils to your hair care routine.
We recommend using our hair oils 2-3 times a week at the beginning, or if your hair is dry and brittle. Also, you may need this frequency in colder, winter months. After these periods, once or twice a week.
You can apply our hair oils massaged in your scalp (highly recommended), but some drops of oil spread along the length of your hair can add a nice shine to your finished style and feed your hair with valuable nutrients, make it more elastic and protected from environmental damage.
How we like to use our hair oils:
1. Deeper treatment, 1-12 hours:
- Add oil to your hands, warm it up between your palms and massage it to the scalp for at least 10-15 minutes to stimulate the blood circulation with a slight pressure of your fingertips, then spread the oil all over your hair.
- Use a good brush or your fingers to pull the oil through the hair.
- Leave it in your hair for 2 hours or for a deeper treatment, sleep with the oil in your hair overnight. Wrap a towel around your head or wear a shower cap which helps the oil penetrate deeper into your strands.
- Wash off with a natural shampoo bar, that doesn’t strip the hair of its natural oils.
- Complete the rest of your hair care routine.
2. Straight onto dry hair:
If you’d like to add some shine to your finished styled look, add a drop of oil to dry hair to make it glow.
- Style your hair to your desired look.
- Pour a small coin-sized amount - depending on you hair-length - into your hands and warm it up between your palms.
- Spread the hair oil to the length of your hair, starting from the middle to the ends, avoiding the roots.
- Let the oil sink in and you are ready to go!
3. After a hair wash:
- Complete your usual wash day routine with your favourite shampoo bar.
- Towel dry your hair.
- Pour a small coin-sized amount - depending on you hair-length - into your hands and warm it up between your palms.
- Spread the hair oil to the length of your hair, starting from the middle to the ends, avoiding the roots now, since it can give your hair a bit greasy appearance.
- Gently brush the oil through the hair.
- Let your hair to dry naturally and you are ready to go!
The things, you shouldn't do...
Over-using the oil... Using too much hair oil can result in oil building up on your scalp, which limits the scalp ability to breath freely.
Massaging too aggressively.
Tying your hair up tightly after oiling.
Avoid spilling on your face.
